"Wrexham, the club that’s been made famous by Ryan Reynolds and a three series documentary overseas ... is highly likely to be playing a game in July against Melbourne Victory at Marvel Stadium," Morris said on Nine News.

"It’s an amazing coup for Visit Victoria (the state's tourism board). If they can get it done, and I expect they will, this is almost certainly happening."

An April report from the Sydney Morning Herald has also revealed Wrexham will visit Sydney and New Zealand as part of their tour.

Venues are yet to be confirmed, although the club are likely to take on Sydney FC and the newly-formed Auckland FC.

It is also expected that camera crews for the Welcome to Wrexham series will travel with the team for the three-match friendly series.

Who are Wrexham's owners?

In tandem with the popular documentary series, Wrexham's global rise has also accelerated by investment from its two celebrity owners – Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.

McElhenney is an actor and producer, best known for his role on sitcom 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'.

Reynolds is a Hollywood heavyweight whose fame skyrocketed off his Deadpool film character and associated movies.

Earlier this year, McElhenney revealed that Australia sits behind the US and UK in terms of viewership for the 'Welcome to Wrexham' docuseries.

"Our third biggest audience for Welcome to Wrexham is Australia,” McElhenney told Rolling Stone.

"Number one US, number two UK, number three is Australia, which I find fascinating. There is a lot of love for Wrexham.

"Who knows? Maybe we might bring the club to you instead of the other way around."

Have Wrexham been promoted?

Wrexham currently play in League 1 – the third tier of the English professional football pyramid.

After consecutive promotions from the National League and League 2, the Welsh-based outfit have recently guaranteed their spot in the Championship next season.

As one of the top two sides in League 1, Wrexham will feature in the second-tier of English football for 2025/26.

They have notably become the first club from the top five divisions of English football to secure three consecutive promotions.
