Who were the top girls soccer players in Iowa?
The girls soccer season in Iowa featured some incredible individual performances that ultimately led to the crowning of state team champions.
Here are some of the top girls from this past spring in Iowa high school soccer:
Claire Turner, Spirit Lake Park/Okoboji, Junior
What will Turner do for an encore as a senior? All she did this past year was score a state-best 70 goals in 15 matches, adding eight assists.
Morgan Crees, Panorama, Junior
Had it not been for Turner, Crees would have a shot at leading the state in goals multiple seasons, as the 11th-grader tallied 55 this past spring.
Taylor Davis, Hudson, Sophomore
Another underclassmen standout, Davis ranked third in the state, scoring 51 goals while adding 14 assists.
Addison Hoben, Spencer, Senior
Hoben capped her career with 47 goals and 18 assists, tallying 112 points on the year.
Meadow Lane, Colfax-Mingo, Freshman
The new program at Colfax-Mingo was led by a ninth-grader, as Lane scored 44 goals and helped on 14 others.
Trelyn White, Bishop Heelan, Senior
Along with scoring 43 goals in her final prep season on the pitch, White also chipped in 10 assists.
Anabel Sinz, Spirit Lake Park/Okoboji, Sophomore
The second part of the duo at Spirit Lake Park/Okoboji, Sinz led the state with 31 assists and also scored 19 goals.
Olivia Albert, Independence, Senior
In her senior campaign, Albert tallied 29 assists and scored eight goals in 20 matches.
Jaida Douch, Bishop Heelan, Junior
Douch was part of the 20-20 club, scoring 24 goals to go along with 21 assists.
Lauren Seres, Hudson, Senior
Seres played in the most minutes of any keeper with 1,706, saving 154 shots while allowing just nine for a 94.5 save percentage.
Macie Schneckloth, Tri-Center, Junior
With a save percentage of 92, Schneckloth allowed just 13 goals in 1,500 minutes with 150 saves.
Elly Fogt, Gladbrook-Reinbeck, Sophomore
She was peppered with shots time and time again, and Fogt stepped up, saving 337 shots in over 1,100 minutes.
Samantha Chandler, Denison-Schleswig, Senior
Chandler had the top save percentage in the state at just under 86 percent, recording 194 saves with 32 goals allowed.
