Real Madrid send clear message on Eder Militao transfer exit talks

It has been a long road back for Eder Militao. Twice in two years, the Brazilian’s knees gave way, forcing him through months of rehabilitation and raising doubts about whether he could reclaim his place among the elite.

Yet, after a standout preseason, Real Madrid believe those doubts are fading fast.

Militao tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the opening match of the 2023/24 season and then, in November last year, suffered the same injury in his right knee.

Speaking during the Club World Cup, he admitted the struggle: “I feel good, happy to be able to be on the field helping my teammates.

It was a very difficult time for me, another cruciate ligament injury, but I prepared hard and was strong. It’s a very tough injury for any athlete.”

Xabi Alonso, who has eased him back into the lineup, now reportedly views Militao as a player for the important night, provided his recovery stays on track.

Real Madrid block Middle East interest but set transfer price

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid have been approached by intermediaries representing clubs from Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Their message to those suitors has been blunt: "If the player asks, it will be considered... but we don't want to sell him, and if he does ask, never for less than €45m [$52m]," revealed by the Spanish outlet.

The defender so far has shown no intention of going anywhere. The Brazilian who arrived from Porto in 2019 for €50m [$58m] extended his contract till 2028 last year. Militao’s previous deal was to expire in 2025.
