In the first round of the draft, the Packers selected wide receiver Matthew Golden from Texas, noted for his impressive 4.29-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Alongside Golden, the Packers also drafted TCU wide receiver Saivon Williams, a 6-foot-5, 212-pound player with a notable performance of 611 receiving yards and 322 rushing yards last season.

Jordan Love, the Packers' quarterback, was highlighted as a significant beneficiary of the draft, having gained two new receivers to strengthen the team's offensive lineup.

The Packers' receiving room, previously affected by frequent drops, is set to see increased competition and depth, especially with the anticipated absence of Christian Watson due to a knee injury.

These strategic draft choices demonstrate the Packers' intention to support Love by enhancing the team's receiving capabilities, aiming for improved offensive performance.

"Green Bay showed out in hosting the draft, and Love picked up two new receivers in the first three rounds with Texas' Matthew Golden – who ran a 4.29 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. TCUs' Saivon Williams – a 6-foot-5, 212-pound receiver, totaled 611 receiving yards and 322 rushing yards last season. Green Bay has a young receiving room that was plagued by drops last season. This should increase the competition, especially with Christian Watson likely to miss the entire year as he recovers from a knee injury."

The Packers needed some viable weapons for Love, and they did just that. Well done, Green Bay, well done.
