Corbin Burnes injury update: Diamondbacks ace appears to say, 'my elbow's gone,' exits vs. Nationals
To open the month of June, the Diamondbacks' season may have taken a turn for the worse.
With former Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes on the mound for a date with the Nationals, Arizona had built a 3-0 lead through four innings. As Burnes needed one more out to close the fifth, he immediately signaled for help from the dugout with an apparent elbow injury.
Burnes' signaling for help was concerning enough, but the broadcast picked up Burnes relaying a potentially devastating message to the training staff.
