Buffalo Bills 7-touchdown star named one of NFL's most underrated players

The Buffalo Bills were basically left for dead by many in 2024 when they traded away Stefon Diggs, leaving them without a true No. 1 receiver. In his absence, Khalil Shakir continued to ascend and had the best year of his career as Josh Allen's top target, catching 76 passes for 821 yards and four touchdowns.

Despite his play, Shakir doesn't get brought up in national conversations when it comes to being one of the top receivers in the NFL. Because of that, PFF named him as the Bills most underrated player and one of the most underrated players in the NFL.

"Shakir has been a stable contributor for the Bills’ receiving corps over the past two seasons, and he stepped up significantly in 2024 in Stefon Diggs‘ absence, leading the team in targets (115), receiving yards (995), PFF receiving grade (80.1) and yards per route run (2.20)," Jonathon Macri writes. "Shakir placed in the top 25 for the position in all of those categories. He has also been one of the most effective receivers with the ball in his hands, averaging 7.7 yards after the catch per reception since 2023, which is tied for the sixth-best mark among wide receivers."

Should Shakir put together his first 1,000 yard season in 2025, the underrated tag will likely be dropped.
