With Deshaun Watson out for the season, the Cleveland Browns face a crowded quarterback room featuring Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders. Drew Bishop from The Sporting News predicts that Sanders, son of Deion Sanders, might be traded as the trade deadline approaches, despite not seeing meaningful playing time. The Browns could leverage Sanders' preseason performance and potential for publicity as a trade chip if another team faces a quarterback crisis. Bishop suggests three potential trade destinations for Sanders: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where his brother Shilo was recently signed, the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he could reunite with Travis Hunter, and the Pittsburgh Steelers, who had previously passed on him in the draft. These speculations add another layer to the ongoing discussions about Sanders' draft slide and potential trade scenarios, capturing the intrigue surrounding his future in the NFL.

Browns’ Shedeur Sanders predicted for trade to 3 possible teams

The Cleveland Browns, dealing with Deshaun Watson's season-ending injury, have a surplus of quarterbacks including Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders, creating a need for roster adjustment.

Drew Bishop of The Sporting News predicts the Browns might trade Shedeur Sanders, primarily for strategic reasons rather than immediate necessity, as the trade deadline nears.

Sanders, not expected to play significant snaps this season, could be showcased in preseason to increase his trade value, with the Browns leveraging his potential to attract teams in need of a quarterback.

Bishop identifies the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a potential destination, noting the recent signing of Sanders' brother Shilo and the Buccaneers' current backup situation with Kyle Trask behind Baker Mayfield.

Another possible team for Sanders is the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he could pair up again with Travis Hunter, with Nick Mullens currently backing up Trevor Lawrence.

The Pittsburgh Steelers could also be interested in Sanders despite having passed on him during the draft, offering a chance to address their quarterback needs.

These trade speculations contribute to the ongoing narrative surrounding Sanders' unexpected draft slide and highlight the strategic maneuvering that might occur within the Browns' quarterback roster.

Everyone is already trying to figure out how the Browns' quarterback room will work.

Beyond the out-for-the-year Deshaun Watson, they have Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Something seemingly has to give.

That's where a fascinating prediction by Drew Bishop of The Sporting News comes in.

He predicts that Sanders will be traded, not necessarily before the season but as the trade deadline approaches.

Here's how Bishop explains it:

"Cleveland could keep the famous son of Deion Sanders, let him shine in preseason, and not put him on the field for meaningful snaps all season. The intrigue around Sanders would bring more publicity to the Browns and they could use him as a trade chip. If a team suffers an injury or gets desperate for quarterback help, the Browns' trove of signal callers could allow for a trade."

That all makes some sense.

Bishop goes on to predict three possible destinations.

The first: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"Imagine Shedeur heading to Tampa Bay, where the Bucs just signed his brother Shilo as an undrafted free agent," Bishop writes. "Kyle Trask is on a one-year deal backing up Baker Mayfield there."

The next option is the Jaguars.

"Sanders could also head to Jacksonville to team back up with Travis Hunter," Bishop writes. "Nick Mullens is the backup to Trevor Lawrence for the Jaguars."

Or, Shedeur could wind up in Pittsburgh.

"Of course, the Pittsburgh Steelers are still the first team that could use Sanders, but they passed on him multiple times in the draft," Bishop concludes.

If you thought Sanders' draft slide discussions were fun, just imagine what trade rumors could be like.
