The Buffalo Bills have strengthened their offense by signing wide receiver Elijah Moore to a one-year contract worth up to $5 million. Moore, a former second-round pick, had an underwhelming performance with the Cleveland Browns last season, recording 61 receptions for 538 yards and one touchdown. Despite his struggles in New York and Cleveland, the Bills are optimistic that Moore will thrive alongside quarterback Josh Allen in an already high-scoring offense. This acquisition means the Bills will not pursue a contract with Amari Cooper and have lost Mack Hollins to the Patriots, both of whom were significant contributors last season. Elijah Moore expressed excitement about joining the Bills and is eager to contribute to the team's success, as evidenced by his enthusiastic social media posts.

Bills add former second-round WR to boost Josh Allen's offense

The Buffalo Bills signed wide receiver Elijah Moore, a former second-round pick, to a one-year deal aiming to enhance their offensive lineup with quarterback Josh Allen.

Elijah Moore recorded 61 receptions for 538 yards and one touchdown with the Cleveland Browns last season, and previously struggled with the New York Jets due to limited targets and chemistry with quarterback Zach Wilson.

Despite not living up to his draft status, the Bills are optimistic that Moore will improve in their offense, which ranked second in scoring in the previous season.

The signing of Moore means the Bills are no longer pursuing Amari Cooper, who was acquired midseason last year, and they also lost Mack Hollins to free agency, impacting their receiving core.

Josh Allen has previously demonstrated the ability to adapt and spread the ball across the field, even after losing key players like Stefon Diggs, which could benefit Moore's integration into the team.

Moore expressed his excitement about joining the Bills through social media, indicating his readiness to contribute and embrace the team's culture.

Drew Bishop, a freelance writer with The Sporting News, provided insights into Moore's signing, highlighting the potential impact on the Bills' offensive strategy.

Josh Allen just got a new weapon for his arsenal.

The Bills signed former second-round pick Elijah Moore to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million.

Moore had 61 receptions for 538 yards and one touchdown with the Cleveland Browns last season. He spent his first two years in New York, where he publicly complained about lack of targets and chemistry with Zach Wilson.

The Jets traded him to Cleveland in 2023 where he played for the last two seasons.

The Ole Miss product has not lived up to his second-round status from 2021. But the Bills are betting on him to improving in an offense with Josh Allen that ranked second in scoring last season.

There will be a few missing pieces from that team in 2025 though.

This signing essentially eliminates the Bills from pursuing a contract with Amari Cooper, who was acquired via midseason trade.

Buffalo also lost Mack Hollins, who signed with the Patriots in free agency.

Those two receivers accounted for seven receiving touchdowns last season.

Losing two weapons will be tough, but since Stefon Diggs left, Allen has proved he can make it work by spreading the ball across the field.

Moore with be another part of that experiment and give Allen another receiver that he can elevate.

The former Brown went to social media after the trade to express his glee with the new opportunity.

Needless to say, Moore is excited to be in Buffalo.
