Barcelona star makes honest admission on Hansi Flick's style of play
Barcelona have been on a roll since Hansi Flick took over the reins, as they won the domestic treble last season and were exceptional in games against Real Madrid.
They were also pretty good in the Champions League, reaching the semifinals and only losing to Inter Milan after giving a tough fight.
Most of the Barca fans and players are extremely happy with manager Flick and believe that the German has the capability of taking the Blaugrana to greater heights.
However, in a recent interaction, Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny criticised Flick's ultra-aggressive tactics, which often exposed their defensive frailties.
"This isn’t my kind of football," Szczesny said on the YouTube channel 'Foot Truck'. "What Barcelona did last season was remarkable. For the fans, it looks great. But it's not my kind of football, and even success doesn't change the way I see the style I prefer.
"The team could recognise the risks and not stick to one game plan for all 90 minutes. But as I said, it's not serious criticism. It’s just my opinion.

"I'm a goalkeeper. And when we're leading 4–0, and the guys are so eager to make it 5–0, forgetting everything else, it's frustrating. A goalkeeper also wants to keep a clean sheet. But the guys want to keep scoring and enjoying themselves, and for me, that’s tough."
What next for Szczesny at Barcelona?
While Szczesny is completely entitled to his opinion on Flick's tactics, he played a big role in helping the Balugrana last season.

Barcelona were in crisis with Marc-Andre ter Stegen's injury, and the Polish goalkeeper retracted his retirement and returned to the field to help the Spanish giants.
Szczesny featured in 30 appearances for Barcelona last season across competitions and returned with 14 clean sheets with 68% save accuracy.
Heading into the 2025/26 campaign, Barcelona have already signed Joan Garcia from Espanyol while also extending Szczesny's contract until 2027.
The Polish veteran is all set to be the second in command for Flick after Garcia, who has been one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga over the last couple of campaigns.
