Jeanty's father was in the military, which played a big role in Ashton's life. Harry Jeanty was a U.S. Navy petty officer who was stationed in many different places while Ashton was a kid.

Harry Jeanty was stationed in Jacksonville, then Chesapeake, before he was sent to Naples, Italy when Ashton was still in middle school. The family remained in Italy for three years before Ashton decided he wanted to further pursue a football career in the United States, at which point Harry was ready to retire.

With Harry being a military man, Ashton was taught discipline as a kid.

"To be disciplined is to be patient," Jeanty's father would tell him, via The Ringer. "To be disciplined is to be ready."

Ashton's mother, Pamela Jeanty, has supported her son's dreams from the beginning, but she's also tried to make sure he is humble in his journey.

"Success is great, but it's about how you go about it," she tells Ashton, via The Ringer.

Both of Jeanty's parents are of Haitian descent, as his dad was born in Haiti and his mom is the daughter of two Haitian immigrants. Therefore, Jeanty is prideful of how his ancestry has shaped the kind of person he is.

"Obviously, I was born in the U.S. and all that type of stuff, but I just learned from my dad, my family," Jeanty said, via Fox Sports. "So I just want to continue to be an inspiration for all Haitians."

Jeanty has three siblings, a brother, Amir, and two sisters, Alyssa and Ariana, who all moved with his family whenever his dad was stationed in a different base. Amir, who is older than Ashton, played football as well, which is a big reason why Ashton stuck with the game over other sports like basketball.

Since Jeanty grew up in a military family, he lived in many different places during his childhood. Jeanty was born in Jacksonville, Florida but also lived in Chesapeake, Virginia before he moved to Naples, Italy with his family.

Although Jeanty had found a passion for football in Chesapeake, he had to slow down once he got to Italy. While in Naples, Jeanty was still able to play football all over Europe, but no one in the United States was able to see how good of a player he was from overseas.

Therefore, when he decided to pursue football more seriously, Jeanty moved from Naples to Frisco, Texas, where he played high school football on the Lone Star High School team. While he's lived in many different parts of the world, his family is currently in Texas.
