Angel Reese back for Chicago just in time as team desperately need help

Angel Reese is back, and Chicago Sky fans can finally breathe again. After missing three of the team’s last four games, the two-time All-Star forward will return to the court Tuesday night against the Washington Mystics.

Star forward Angel Reese makes her return on Tuesday

Her absence has been felt. The Sky have struggled without her presence in the paint, dropping to 7-18 and falling to 12th place in the standings. Reese has played in 22 games this season, starting in every single one. She’s averaging 13.8 points per game and has been a steady source of scoring and toughness all year.

Chicago head coach Tyler Marsh confirmed that Reese will be available for the matchup in D.C. Her return brings some much-needed energy to a roster that’s been dealing with multiple injuries and rotating lineups all season.

Even during her short time away, Reese remained a central figure on the sidelines and in the locker room. Now, she’s ready to lead again, this time back on the floor.

The Sky tip off against the Mystics at 7:30 p.m. Eastern at CareFirst Arena. This is the final game of July for Chicago. They will head home and play four straight home games to start August. Golden State visits on Friday, with the Mercury, Mystics and Dream to follow.

With Reese back in action, Chicago gets one of its biggest weapons just when they need her most.
