America First Legal has filed a complaint with the Department of Health and Human Services accusing Henry Ford Health of promoting discriminatory Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices. The complaint alleges that the hospital system uses federal funds to implement race- and sex-based discrimination in employment, residency programs, and patient services. It also highlights specific practices such as racial quotas in hiring and prioritizing organ transplants based on race. Consumers' Research has launched an ad campaign against the hospital, criticizing its DEI policies and transgender treatments for children as prioritizing politics over patient care. The complaint calls for an immediate investigation and compliance review, suggesting that the hospital's actions violate federal civil rights laws and a recent executive order from President Trump banning federal support for DEI mandates.

'Woke' hospital could be in crosshairs of Trump admin after scathing complaint alleges DEI discrimination

America First Legal, a pro-Trump nonprofit, has filed an official complaint with the Department of Health and Human Services against Henry Ford Health, alleging race- and sex-based discrimination under DEI policies.

The complaint accuses the hospital of using federal funds to support DEI initiatives, including racial quotas in hiring, race-based organ transplant prioritization, and awarding contracts based on race and gender.

Consumers' Research, a nonprofit advocating for consumer information, has criticized the hospital's DEI policies and transgender treatments for children, claiming they prioritize political agendas over patient care.

The complaint demands an immediate investigation, a compliance review of HHS-funded programs, and suspension of race- and sex-based policies, as well as legal penalties for noncompliance.

Henry Ford Health is accused of violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, and a recent executive order banning federal support for DEI mandates.

Since 2021, Henry Ford Health has reportedly received nearly $1 billion in federal awards with DEI-related provisions, embedding race and sex-based priorities into various operations.

In response to these accusations, Henry Ford Health maintains its commitment to anti-discrimination laws and serving Michigan's diverse communities, emphasizing its adherence to legal standards.
