President Donald Trump, during a recent conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, urged him to 'be good to Gaza,' highlighting the humanitarian crisis and the need for food and medicine. Trump's comments signal a shift from his previous aggressive stance, where he had warned Hamas of severe consequences if hostages were not released. Despite this push for aid, Israel maintains that no humanitarian assistance will enter Gaza until remaining hostages are freed. There are concerns in Israel about aid being diverted to Hamas, with past incidents of looting reported. Meanwhile, freed hostage Eli Sharabi has testified about the dire conditions in captivity and how U.N. supplies were often seen in the hands of Hamas members in tunnels.

President Trump has taken a softer approach in his recent communication with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, urging for better treatment of Gaza, which marks a departure from his earlier hardline stance on the issue.

Trump's previous communications had included threats of severe retaliation against Hamas if hostages were not released, and he had even suggested the U.S. could take over the Gaza Strip to transform it into a 'riviera.'

The humanitarian situation in Gaza is dire, with a significant need for food and medicine; however, Israel has stated that aid will not be allowed in until all hostages are released.

There is frustration within Israel due to allegations that humanitarian aid has been misappropriated by Hamas, as evidenced by incidents where aid trucks were looted.

Freed hostage Eli Sharabi revealed to the U.N. Security Council the harsh conditions faced during captivity, including starvation, while observing Hamas controlling supplies marked with U.N. logos.

The Israeli agency COGAT reported that during a previous hostage deal, a large number of aid trucks were allowed into Gaza, but the flow was halted due to ongoing hostilities.

Despite the tensions and challenges, Trump has emphasized efforts to provide humanitarian relief, while balancing diplomatic efforts to secure the release of remaining hostages.
