Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested for allegedly assisting an illegal immigrant, Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, evade ICE agents by helping him exit through a restricted jury door. A notice was posted on her courtroom door for individuals who felt unsafe, offering them a Zoom court appearance option. The incident occurred four days after the notice was dated, and Flores-Ruiz, who faced multiple misdemeanor charges, was able to leave the courthouse undetected. Judge Dugan was charged with obstruction of an official proceeding and concealing an individual to prevent arrest. Following her arrest, she was released from custody and is not currently overseeing any cases, with a reserve judge taking over her duties.

Judge Hannah Dugan allegedly helped an illegal immigrant, Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, avoid ICE arrest by escorting him out of the courthouse through a restricted door, bypassing public areas where agents were stationed.

A notice on Judge Dugan's courtroom door, dated April 14, invited individuals feeling unsafe to request a Zoom court appearance, a measure perceived as linked to the incident involving Flores-Ruiz.

Federal agents from multiple agencies, including ICE, FBI, CBP, and DEA, were involved in attempting to arrest Flores-Ruiz, a Mexican national facing misdemeanor battery charges, during his court appearance on April 18.

Judge Dugan was charged with obstruction of an official proceeding and concealing an individual to prevent discovery and arrest, leading to her arrest on the courthouse grounds by the FBI.

Following her arrest, Judge Dugan briefly appeared in federal court and was released from custody, with her cases being reassigned to a reserve judge while her legal proceedings continue.
