A bear is spotted in Connecticut playing on family's backyard slide
A family in Simsbury, Connecticut, witnessed an unusual sight when a bear played on their backyard playset. After returning home from lunch, Sarah Loving saw two bears in her yard, a common occurrence in the area due to frequent bear activity. One of the bears climbed the playset and slid down the slide, much to Loving's amazement, as she captured the moment on video. The bear appeared comfortable and playful as it slid headfirst into the soft sand at the bottom and rested momentarily before moving on. The bears' visit lasted about ten minutes, during which they seemed at ease navigating the play equipment, suggesting they might have done it before, though this was the first time Loving had witnessed such an event.
Sarah Loving and her family in Simsbury, Connecticut, encountered two bears in their backyard, which is not an uncommon sight in the suburban community known for frequent bear encounters.
The bears arrived shortly after the family returned from lunch, prompting Loving to observe them from a window and eventually begin filming their antics.
One bear, in particular, caught Loving's attention by climbing onto the family's playset and sliding down the slide, demonstrating a surprising level of comfort and familiarity with the equipment.
The bear slid down headfirst, using its front paws to break the fall, and rested in the soft sand at the bottom, appearing nonchalant and at ease in its environment.
Loving noted that the bears lingered for about ten minutes before moving to a neighbor's yard, during which they seemed quite comfortable with the playset, hinting at previous visits despite this being her first time witnessing such behavior.
