Wendy’s Teams Up with Netflix’s “Wednesday” for the Grimly Delicious ‘Meal of Misfortune’

Something sinister has hit the fast food world — and fans are lining up for it.

Wendy’s has launched a new promotional meal inspired by Netflix’s hit series Wednesday, designed to coincide with the release of Season 2. Dubbed the “Meal of Misfortune,” the limited-time offering blends fast food favorites with eerie touches and a healthy dose of Addams Family attitude.

Available nationwide in the U.S. starting on Monday, August 4, the meal includes a 10-piece order of “Rest in 10-Piece” chicken nuggets, a small order of “Cursed & Crispy” fries, and a new dark cherry swirled “Raven’s Blood” Frosty — all served in themed packaging. The cherry-on-top? Each meal comes with two out of four “Dips of Dread,” mysterious sauces handed out at random. Customers won’t know which two they’ll receive — “fate will decide,” according to Wendy’s.

The sauces — named You Can’t Hyde, This Will Sting, Grave Mistake, and Nowhere to Woe — are kept under wraps, leaving customers to discover their level of spice or sweetness through taste alone. Wendy’s hints that some are significantly hotter than others.

For those who want a complete experience, the “Raven’s Blood” Frosty features a dark cherry swirl in a vanilla base (chocolate is available by request) and is served with a signature “Spoon of Gloom” inside a custom “Wednesday”-branded cup.

The collaboration pokes playful fun at fast food traditions — especially McDonald’s Happy Meal — by offering what Wendy’s calls “pure punishment in a bag.” In a press release, the company noted, “This isn’t a typical collaboration... it was a match made in dark, dry-witted heaven.”

In addition to its U.S. release, the Meal of Misfortune will be available in Canada starting August 11, as well as in Puerto Rico, The Bahamas, and Guam. The launch aligns with Wednesday Season 2, which premieres on August 6 (Part 1) and September 3 (Part 2) on Netflix.

Fans have already shown enthusiasm. At a special preview event in Norwalk, California, some customers waited hours to be among the first to try the new meal. Social media posts of unboxing and taste-testing have helped the collaboration go viral.

And for U.S. fans seeking even more thrills, Wendy’s is offering an exclusive in-app game called Escape from Wednesday’s Woe, with a chance to win $10,000 and unlock themed digital rewards.

It seems grim never tasted so good.
