The 46-year-old actor, who played Eric on the hit sitcom, recently reflected on his bond with Wilmer, who played the role of Fez in the series from 1998-2006.

“You and I had this incredible connection from day one. I mean, you and I really became best friends right off the bat,” Topher said while on Wilmer‘s podcast “Dos Amigos.”

The Flight Risk star also said that their friendship extended behind the scenes when they first got their breakout role on the show.

“I would come over to his folks’ house and hang out a lot with your sisters. We did so many amazing things together. It’s like scary and you’re getting famous and you don’t understand what’s happening in your life but then to have such a good friend,” he said.

Wilmer, 45, said he was eager to reciprocate the connection with Topher.

“It was [life-changing] for me too, you have to understand, because I had only been [in America] a couple years. His family also took me in the same way,” he said.

“He slept in my bunk bed,” Topher noted.
