Ed Sheeran has launched a new Instagram account to share photos he found on his old phone to celebrate his upcoming single titled “Old Phone.”
The Grammy-winning singer retired the phone in 2015, but had to look through the old phone during a copyright lawsuit for his 2014 song “Thinking Out Loud.”
“It felt like a time capsule, a time of life that I was in, and living at that time in 2015,” Ed wrote on his @teddysoldphone account. “Turning it on really spun me out, I found myself scrolling messages and conversations with people who are no longer here. … I found old photos of me with people I was so close to then, but we’ve lost touch since. The whole experience was such an emotional journey.”
One photo that Ed shared shows a private note that Taylor Swift wrote to him and it includes some major shade thrown at Kanye West.

Taylor made a jar of jam for Ed and wrote a special note on the label.
“Yo Ed – I’m really happy 4 you and I’m gonna let you finish but this is the best JAM OF ALL TIME, – T,” she wrote on the jar.
Taylor is clearly referencing Kanye when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and said that Beyonce‘s “Single Ladies” video was the best video of all time.
