'Rick & Morty' Season 9? Renewal Status Revealed for Adult Swim TV Show

Rick & Morty Season 8 is coming to an end tonight (Sunday, July 27).
For the Season 8 finale, airing on Adult Swim, the season finale episode synopsis simply reads: “Sometimes we try weird stuff to let go of the past.”
Of course, fans are wondering if their favorite TV show will be extending past its eighth season.

Rick & Morty will return for Season 9 – and beyond!
The show was already renewed for another two seasons in 2024, with three seasons still left to air at the time.
That means there will be 12 seasons by 2029!
“Nobody wants a universe without Rick and Morty,” says series co-creator Dan Harmon in a statement. “Fortunately, the list of places to go remains infinite.”
It’s Adult Swim’s No. 1 program, and a two-time Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Animated Program.
“From Season 1, Rick and Morty set a new standard in adult animation and has shown no signs of stopping,” Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen said in a statement. “Dan, Scott and the rest of the immensely talented team behind Rick and Morty are constantly outdoing themselves and I’ll be joining the millions of fans around the world in looking forward to more adventures in the years to come.”
