'Outer Banks' Actor Jonathan Daviss to Play Snoop Dogg in New Biopic

Jonathan Daviss has landed a very exciting new movie role!

On Monday (June 9), it was announced that the 25-year-old actor, best known for playing Pope Heyward in the Netflix series Outer Banks, will be playing Snoop Dogg in the upcoming biopic at Universal Pictures.

Jonathan‘s casting comes days after it was announced that Hustle & Flow and Coming 2 America filmmaker Craig Brewer will be directing the movie.

Keep reading to find out more…The untitled biopic is “a look at how Calvin Broadus Jr. entered into the West Coast hip hop fray. Taking the moniker Snoop Doggy Dogg (he’d later drop the middle name), Snoop brought his laid back drawling delivery and sharp lyrics to Death Row Records, where he worked with Dr Dre on his smash debut album Doggystyle. He broadened into other platforms to the point he might well be seen rubbing elbows with Martha Stewart or getting in the pool with Michael Phelps during the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he became one of the high points of that Olympiad on NBC and Peacock,” according to Deadline.

Snoop, 53, will be producing the movie alongside Brian Grazer and Death Row Pictures president Sara Ramaker.

Earlier this year, Snoop Dogg became a grandpa again!
