Malcolm-Jamal rose to fame playing the role of Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show. On the podcast episode, the actor said he knew that would be what he was most remembered for, meaning that was “one lane” of his legacy already.
He went on to say that he was still working on living a full life after the classic sitcom. Malcolm-Jamal said, “I feel like, okay, there’s that legacy there, but then, because I’ve had this full life after that show, there’s another lane of legacy that I get to leave. And I’m still working through that.”
Malcolm-Jamal went on to share his main hope would be that people would remember him for the kind of person he was. He told the podcast host, “There’s part of me that I will be able to leave this earth knowing — and people knowing — that I was a good person.”
