Back in January, it was revealed that Netflix is rebooting the beloved series, which was based on Laura Ingalls Wilder‘s books. The original series, which aired in the ’70s and ’80s, starred Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert.
On Friday (May 2), Variety revealed that Alice Halsey will be taking on the role of Laura Ingalls in the reboot.

The young actress confirmed her casting on Instagram, writing, “I love all of the Little House books so much, and I’m so excited and grateful to get to bring Laura to life! Thank you so much to the Little House creative team for putting your faith in me.”
Shortly after Alice‘s casting was announced, Variety also revealed that Luke Bracey, Crosby Fitzgerald, and Skywalker Hughes had joined the cast.

Luke and Crosby will be playing Laura’s parents, Charles and Caroline Ingalls, while Skywalker will be playing her older sister, Mary.
