Dax Shepard is sharing one of the controversial ways he and Kristen Bell are raising their kids.

On the Monday (July 28) episode of his Armchair Expert podcast, the 50-year-old actor and podcast host explained why he doesn’t stop his kids from swearing.

According to Dax, he and his 45-year-old wife have only a few ground rules for their two daughters – Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10 – saying curse words.

“They are allowed to swear, not with impunity, but when it’s called for, and they land it, and it’s in the house and not out at a restaurant, it’s OK,” Dax shared on the episode, adding that he doesn’t hold back about swearing in front of his own kids.

Dax went on to explain the way that he explained swear words to his kids by saying, “I just told the girls, like, ‘Hey, these are noises that come out of your mouth, and you assign what they mean to you.’”

Meanwhile, his guest on the episode, Seth Meyers, doesn’t share his philosophy. Seth said, “For us, it’s the fear that they’re gonna take it to school.”
