Bethenny Frankel, a former star of The Real Housewives of New York City, has decided to move to Florida with her 14-year-old daughter Bryn, leaving behind a large home that felt overwhelming and isolating. The decision was made quickly in March, leading to the sale of their previous home and the purchase of a new one in Florida within five weeks, while keeping an apartment in their previous location. Frankel explained that the large historical property she owned was no longer suitable for her current lifestyle, as it was intended for a bigger family and left her feeling lonely due to a lack of community connections. She realized that both she and her daughter needed a change, and the move was partly motivated by her desire to simplify life and find a supportive community. Frankel is looking forward to this new chapter, especially after experiencing challenging times such as grieving her mother's death and calling off her engagement to Paul Bernon, expressing excitement for a lighter, happier future.

Bethenny Frankel Explains the Real Reason Why She's Moving to Florida

Bethenny Frankel's decision to relocate to Florida with her daughter Bryn was made quickly after a series of events on March 19, leading to selling and buying homes within five weeks.

Her previous home was a large, historical property with an apple orchard, which she purchased envisioning it as a family home, but it became overwhelming and isolating for just her and her daughter.

Frankel felt drowned by the property's size and the solitude it brought, as she didn't have many social connections in the area, prompting her to seek a community elsewhere.

Initially considering waiting until Bryn went to college, Frankel realized the urgency of the move when she acknowledged that the situation was affecting both of them, leading to a mutual decision for change.

The move represents Frankel's desire to simplify her life and align it more closely with her current needs, as she felt overburdened by the expectations versus the reality of her previous lifestyle.

Recent months have been challenging for Frankel, marked by personal losses such as her mother's death and the end of her engagement, making the move an opportunity for a fresh start.

Frankel expressed gratitude to her fans for their support during this transition, emphasizing her excitement for the future and the positive changes she anticipates in her new environment.

Bethenny Frankel is getting even more open and honest.

The 54-year-old Real Housewives of New York City alum spoke out on social media about her decision to relocate to Florida alongside 14-year-old daughter Bryn. After previously stating that it was for “personal and professional reasons” back in April, she shared more insight over the weekend.

“The morning of March 19th, this wasn’t even a thought and by that evening, a series of events transpired and we decided it was the best move to move here,” she said on Friday (May 2) in a TikTok.

“Within five weeks, [we] had sold and bought a home in both places. We’ll keep this apartment, but I sold my home and bought a house in Florida,” she went on.

Bethenny said her previous home “was drowning me” due to its size.

“It was just the two of us,” she said, referring to her daughter with ex Jason Hoppy.

“It was a massive property, and I made the decision to buy that property when I was in a different stage of my life. I thought it would be this, like, big family home and that I’d be entertaining there a lot.”

“The house was drowning me because it had an apple orchard, it was a historical house, it had all this property, and it was beautiful and amazing for a big family with kids and grandparents,” she said.

“It just ended up being a place that I spent a lot of time alone [in] because I didn’t really know many people in that community. It was lonely.”

Not wanting to be “home alone,” she looked to find community elsewhere.

“I wanted to simplify. My simplification is someone else’s complication ‘cause I’m still going to be in a beautiful home, but I just took on too much and the idea of something was different than the reality of it,” Bethenny explained.

She had also thought of waiting until Bryn went off to college, but she had a change of heart.

“This situation was drowning me and something else was distracting her and neither of us would say it out loud because this is just what it was,” she revealed.

“The moment it became about her, I was able to be honest with myself about how I felt and it freed both of us. I think I’ll be lighter and brighter and happier in the coming months.”

Bethenny said the past few months have been “a lot,” including grieving the death of her mother and calling off her engagement to Paul Bernon.

“I’m excited for this next chapter,” she said, thanking her fans for “getting [her] through this tough time.”
